BioGRaphy
Layne Sharpe is an emerging Canadian artist born in Oshawa, Ontario in 1995. They were a member of a specialized arts program during high school before attending the Haliburton School of the Arts where they received a Visual and Creative Arts Diploma. Currently, they are enrolled at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and plans to achieve a Masters in Art Therapy after. Sharpe's art is narrative based and focuses on systematic sustainability in a fantastical world. They are working on the creation of this world and the transformation of these ideas into stories for children and young adults. Recently, Sharpe has finished a series using variety of mediums lending to a collection of small sculptures, made from bone, that symbolize death. Currently, they are working towards their first book centred around the human impact of environmental degradation and garbage disposal methods.
